The future...

What is the future for people with hemangioendotheloma?

Doctors are looking more into the use of anti-angiogenetic treatments, and other methods of trying to control the growth and spread of HE tumors. In the meantime, many of the currently available drugs are managing to restrain the tumours, providing vital time until other treatments are discovered.

HOWEVER….research is bound by need….and the world health dollar does not stretch to cover a rare disease such as this. It does not warrant spending a lot of time and money in research for a disease that affects only a few dozen people a year in the US – probably less than 100 people a year worldwide. For this reason, we must try to band together, present a strong and combined group, and have our voices HEARD!
